I realize this question is not really pertain to art, but I am looking
for some reading comprehension techniques. I have a student who has low
reading scores, simply because he cannot remember what he has read. I have
sat with him and read, put down the paper, and he can't remember the last
sentence he read. We have tried highlighting - but you can't highlight
textbooks or reading books. I mentioned taking notes, but he is not
comfortable with it. I even talked about drawing pictures about material he
has read. (He is a visual learner for the most part.) I know the more you
read, the better you get, but he is very frustrated right now and won't
read. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
