        Thank you everyone who replied. I am beginning to realize that the
    biggest problem is their maturity. I have already called parents in regards
    to their behavior and it is only the third day of class. So much for the
    honeymoon period!
        Being that I have these students for an advisory period, I am thinking
    about doing some activities regarding self-esteem and treating others with
    respect. I am hoping this will flow into the class period.
        Many of the projects suggested I already have planned - to an extent. I
    think that it is just getting to the students adjusted to the class, making
    them realize it is a class and not recess.
