Both contemporaries and I think New Yorkers

    Andy Goldsworthy, Environmental Installation artist
Barbara Hepworthy would be a good complement

Maya Lin, The creator of "The Wall - Vietnam Memorial", The Civil Rights
memorial in Montgomery, Alabama ( I think) or there is a wonderful African
American Female sculptor who creates on a very large scale and recently did
    Alex Haley's sculptor.

    Just some thoughts.
