Many years ago a semi went off the highway with a load of heavy stock
for some company.
I got 3 pickup loads of it to school before the other art teachers got
to it. The two stacks
at School were 11 feet high at one time. It made great
poster board and we used it for painting and costructions. I even
wasted much of it for
disposable palettes. Too bad it's all gone now. But Friday I went to
our local Childerns
Museum, they have a recycle room. Companies like Hallmark donate and
teachers pick out
stuff for a modest fee. I got a 2 inch high stack of heavy stock 22 x
30 for acrylic painting.
It cost me $28.00. Look around there are resources everywhere. Frani
hates when I go shopping
with her cause when we go into a new store I say, "hi, I'm a teacher,
what do you have that you
can give away - free." Keep trying, Woody in KC
