I used Scholastic Art magazine to teach a KEITH HARING lesson. There was a
disclaimer noting that teachers should be very cautious if they assigned
research, and should check any books they recommended for graphic sexual
material. We did talk about the fact that Haring died of AIDS. Their
reactions ranged from compassion to embarrassed giggles. I do like the
website and the kids were enthralled.
