I teach alot!!! of perspective and have oodles of various units centered
around architecture and perspective. One of them deals with Frank Lloyd
Wright and his work.
If you show students a slide or print of Falling Waters and ask for open
discussion on 1)what type of bldg is this? 2)when do you think is was
built? 3)where do you think it is located? you will get some interesting
discussion. Most students are impressed that it was not built within the
last 25 yrs.
You can also discuss cantelevers (can't spell) and how Wright used
cantelevers, along with diseduous tress and stone/tile floors, to create a
home that was warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
PBS has a wonderful video on Frank Lloyd Wright. They did an entire series
of shows on Wright a few years ago. You can email or call them for more
info. Most of their videos are $20 - $30.
I also do a perspective unit with the study of Medieval
architecture/cathedrals.
Let me know if I can be of further help.
