Plaster carving tools--what do I HAVE to have?

    Hi--

    I plan to do plaster carving in mid to late March and I've been looking
    through supply catalogs to see what I should order (no tools like this in
    the art room--I guess previous teachers never did this).

    Everything looks really expensive and most sets include all sorts of
    different things. What should I absolutely, positively buy, what can I
    "fake" or substitute, and can anyone suggest a good retailer?
