Hi all, i'm a new art teacher to this mailing list from Ontario Canada
teaching gr.9-12 art at a technical vocational school. This is my first
year teaching, and obviously my first year at this school.
I have been teaching printmaking to my students and have run across a
package of white plastic that is excellent for both drypoint and line
engraving(it even produces a burr that doesn't seem to be worn away after
four press runs). My problem is that there is no label on the package, so I
can't re-order the stuff! It is 18 x 24 white matt plastic thicker than
acetate and far superior, around 1 mil thickness. It even has a texture
that picks up ink for a light background grey-tone resembling an aquatint!
Anyone have any experience with this material and a name or place it can be
ordered from? I am sure that anyone else teaching printmaking would love
this material since it is durable, resilient and engraves easily with any
sharp point. Any information would be appreciated. You do need a press to
do this kind of printmaking(a small one will do as long as it is a roller
type. If anyone wants to know the process, reply to this message and i will
post the full thing in detail. i know this message is a little long but
it's my first and I thought I would say hi.
Thanks in advance
