For what it's worth, here is my elementary art teaching schedule in Sioux
Falls, SD:
I teach K-5th grade including special ed. adapted art classes and limited
English proficiency art classes. I teach twenty 70 minute periods each week.
I get three 35 minute plus one 70 minute blocks of planning time within that
schedule. So, I have 1400 minutes of student contact time and 175 minutes
of planning time...and STILL end up having to work several hours on the
weekends to do planning, prepping and special projects... there is NEVER
enough time. Good thing I love my job! :-)
