    I have a ton of lessons on this if you want to send your address.
    Keep lines close together. Eye sees colors as it travels across a page
    quickly. Wavy or straight lines can vary in distance apart to creat the
    different effects.
    They can start by drawing a circle or shape and extend pattern around
    it. Change pattern outside the shape, etc, etc. See Hall of illusions on
    web and Escher for more ideas
