    Hello!
It's been a long time since I've been on artsednet due to loss of computer, moving, etc., and I'm so glad to be back! I am certified in art ed, but am currently teaching a multi-age class of 5, 6, and 7 year olds at a charter school. This particular school is, according to its charter, a non-traditional school targeting at-risk students. However, the reality seems to be rather different (at least the non-traditional part!).

Two collegues of mine who were employees of the school last year, and who were disillusioned with the traditional methods being used, are currently in the process of opening their own charter school and have asked me to teach art (YAY!) with them next fall.

All that said, are there any of you who also work (or have worked) in a charter school? Or any who work in a public or private school, but use "non-traditional" methods?

I am so eager to get perspectives from others on this stuff - Thanks!!
