Many years ago I used the long pliable branches I pruned from my apple
trees for weaving in the round. We rolled and tied them into circles,
used odd number of warp strings and wove from inside out. Willow
branches work well too since they are pliable. That same year I found
crape myrtle trees that had been cut down. The Y branch sections were
great for weaving since crape myrtle branches are so sculptural anyway.
One large one became a communal weaving for those who finished early.
