Hi, I'm starting my 5th gr. on a circular weaving on a bent hanger. The
students bend them into a circle leaving the hook intact. Then warp by
wrapping the hanger to look like a bycicle spoke. I have them start by
tying the yarn at the hook, then going across to the opposite side and
wrap around the hanger 10 times, then back across to the opposite side,
wrap ten, repeating until the hanger is covered. We sometimes tie the
middle to make a clear center. Then they weave the weft by tying it to
a center strand and using a pencil for the shuttle, go over and under
all the way around, pulling in as necessary. Each round should be
checked to make sure it is going opposite of the second, etc... Hope
this helps. Betsy
