     Quick thoughts on grant approach... I am thinking about the science
    of clay and comparing yard dirt to clay and exploring why some dirt
    sticks together and some doesn't. Also the reaction to the clay when
    heat is applied in varying degrees. same with color. the science of
    pottery can be fascinating and if I remember correctly you teach
    middle level so they should be able to handle a comparison lesson.
