    Amen. I do this project every year...for one semester...with 30 8th grade
boys (and a few token females). It takes one entire semester for each boy to
make his own monster and we meet EVERYDAY for 18 weeks. It takes 700 lbs. of
flour, 80-90 rolls of masking tape, and $150 worth of plaster gauze (and I
get a really good deal on this) for a class of 30. It's the most popular
class at our school. There is always a waiting list to get in. This is the
reason I DON'T have problems with my boys. They know they can be replaced at
    any time of the semester.

I charge a fee for this class...$25 each which covers alot of the
    expense...otherwise we couldn't do it.

I've done it for the past 7 years. We made them like the book suggests the
first year. After pulling tons of sheet "strings" out of the clogged sinks,
we switched then to the last layer being plaster gauze instead. We start
with the fingers and toes first because they're the most boring part to make
with so much repetition. The rest is a blast. When they start working on the
snarling lips and eyebrows with sculpturing the plaster guaze, those excited
expressions on the students'faces is music to my soul. That's my favorite
time of the year! Forget Christmas...ha!

If you're interested in trying it, the book itself (The Screamer) is funny
to read and explains step-by-step the process using lots of pictures. It
DOES take a long time to do and takes alot of room for storing the monsters
    while they're being constructed.

    Toodles.......
