ok, this is paper and paper mache, but you said you wanted any ideas... My
5th graders are 'visiting' ancient Greece right now. We looked at ancient
architecture and then some buildings like Monticello and sports arenas that
were influenced by the Greek buildings. They worked alone or in small groups
to design and build their own Greek inspired architecture. The base is out
of cardboard using gift wrap tubes for the columns. They will paper mache
and paint them to finish. It's taking awhile, but the students really seem
to be enjoying this project.
