Re: Difficult Student

I just want to let everyone know what I decided to do with my little ray
of sunshine...After we sorted through some things, establishing who was the
teacher and who was the student (so to speak), we had a pretty good
discussion. He explained his drawing looked the way it did because he
doesn't like to draw. So we talked about different mediums he could use for
his independent art project. We agreed on a field of study per say. He has
never really had an art class so he has not been exposed to different kinds
of materials. He decided he wanted to work in modeling clay. Over the next
week or so he will do a daily sculpture. By the end we will pick the "best"
one and grade it. He seemed to be more confident and less confrontational
afterwards. Thank you for the advice. It settled my mind and helped me
realize (again) I am not alone! :)
