Has anyone tried making candles from old crayons? I would love to hear
some tricks and tips. I have purchased some metal molds and collected lots
of glass containers, but I am not sure of the best way to get started.

Thanks!

Hey Lisa,
My son has done a little candle making. He used paraffin wax and added
commercial scent and color. I saw on t.v. where they used old crayons to
color the paraffin. Just throw them in and they will melt. You could also
break them up so you see the chunks. If you use a plastic mold for candle
making, spray it with Pam first. It should come out better. Don't forget the
ice cubes in the milk carton idea. Also I thought about going an extra step
with the milk carton idea. After the ice melts out and you are left with the
Swiss cheese looking candle; why not put it back into the milk carton and
pour in another color. This would have to be done in a "pour a little new
color and then lower the candle and so on method." Hope this helps.
Janice
