Jennifer,

Sounds as if you're doing ok. How old is this student? Are we talking
elem., MS, HS?

It sounds as if he needs a 'safe' form of expression for all of this anger
and isolation. Let him find that safety in art. You may never get to the
root causes, but you will at least be offering him a door.

Let him know that you're at the other end of the avenue, waiting for him,
but let him come into himself when he feels that it is safe.
