Jennifer, My two cents of advise would be: since there are multiple
intelligences there are also multiple ways of reaching and teaching
a student. There is much to be said of expecting and receiving as
much respect and hard work as your other students do. However they
at least realize there is something to be learned and/or
experimented with in ART. I think he might benefit with textural and
process work at first. After all I get at my sons teachers all the
time to reach for his potential. Don't let him sit bored. I guess he
is wanting to challenge everyone to reach him and prove to him there
is something to school and learning. How old is he? Can he read?
This could be the gateway to learning in other subjects. Sounds like
if you won't take the extra time now no one else will later.
