Hi. I had a student teacher that was also a professional artist. It was
almost like having an artist in residence. The students loved seeing her
work. As far a lessons though they just wanted to do art like usual. They
do not like what is perceived as tedious. They always need a project to go
on to when one thing is done. That is a nice time for a sequence of drawings
IE draw the show you are wearing, use line and shape, draw your hand
holding something,. Younger kids love free drawing but older kids sometime
need direction. have a grafiti board , maybe a mural or two towards a
secific theme, all old fashioned, paint like Michelangelo lay on your back
and tape your paintintg to the underside of a table or desk and paint laying
on your back. Most importantly be contagiously in love with them and art.
They will love you!
