hello,
I am an art educator working in the Herzeliya museum in Israel. We are currently planning an art project that will involve all 11th geaders in the city. Yhe original plan was to "dress" the colums that carry electricity wiring in the city enterence (about 40 colums). We yhought of this since the art works will be set up on Passover and it is costumary to buy new clothes and "dress up on this holiday. In "dresseing" the electricity colums we thought of the students sculpting things such as animal parts (wings, claws etc.) and then attaching them to the colums.
WE are now facing many technical problems which I would like your advice on:
1) what material should we use to sculpt the animal parts from? (It should be some material that will hold out well outside, but will still be light and easy to use)
2) What is the best approach to selecting and guiding 40 students out of a few thousands. I have to mention that non of the high school students in Herzeliya studies art!!
Thanks
