For several years I had to pay all expenses myself, but it was worth it.
I live in a rural area and am the only art teacher in my school. Since
it's a professional conference, I could write the whole thing off on my
taxes. With the new principal four years ago, the district pays; he's
advocates teachers continuing professional training and maintaing
contacts in their fields. Under both circumstances I got professional
leave.

One other thing, Mary: Your message did not "wrap" (automatically return
