> Hi, Mary......
I agree with Bunki. My district allows us to attend 2 conferences each
year but I don't want to be greedy so I only apply for one. They provide
my sub and pay a large percentage of the travel/hotel expenses, all of
the conference fees, and $50 for materials I might want to purchase
through district grant funds. I apply for them the first week of school
to be assured of getting them. I have to pay in advance and turn in
receipts for reimbursement.
Last year in Chicago was my first NAEA convention and now I am hooked. I
have experienced some overcrowded sessions in Chicago but none of the
greedy, grabbies that others have mentioned. On the contrary, the people
I have seen offered to share copies when the supply of handouts was
limited. I found the sessions to be very intellectually stimulating, and
full of useful information.
And I'm really looking forward to D.C.on the 24th! I will head straight
for Judy's Sax booth to pick up my ArtsEdNet sticker!
