If you can get a designation of this student's special ed. classification,
it would be helpful in advising you as to what you can expect from her in
terms of drawing ability. For instance, if she reads at a 1st or 2nd grade
level because she is dyslectic or has a specific learning disability, she
will probably be able to benefit from drawing "lessons". If, on the other
hand, she is mentally handicapped (developmentally delayed) she will
probably draw at the level of her mental age. If her mental age is 8 or
below, she will not draw naturalistically.
