Wow, k-6 and ESL that will be a real challenge! Do you have many =
multi-age classrooms in your system? If so, those classrooom teachers =
might have some tips for you. One of my fellow art teachers here in =
Green Bay has had a 1-2-3 which has provided quite a challenge, but =
doable. I'll try to get some hints from her. First things first, be sure =
to try to get a translator or teachers aide. Often parents may be very =
good helpers. Even with a language barrier, what a great opportunity for =
you and the parent. ----Having some very good friends who are ESL =
teachers I know that there is a lot of published evidence at how well =
and how much ESL students learn through hands on activities. This could =
be a terrific action research topic for you. I'll try to get a little =
more info from them for you if I can. What state are you in? Are these =
European, Southeast Asian, or Hispanic children? or a combination of? =
How many children in the class? Keep in touch, Barbara
