IDEAS from a veteran/former Yrbook advisor
Create brochures for the school and local agencies that cannot usually hire
graphic designers. Get community service hours.
Also multimedia for the techies and maybe even 60 second Public Service
Have the staff create a handbook for next years staff of how to avoid the same
mistakes and get ahead of the game. Each year they can revamp the old one.
Research local artists (visual, musicians, dancers, writers, etc.) and publish
a booklet featuring the local arts for the chamber of commerce.
Have the students design, plan and create all of the materials for a signing
party when the books come in.
Have the students create a fictcious company and design the building, logo,
products etc. They can present their business plans to the class.
Students create a restaurant and produce a menu.
Students design a movie poster.
