I have come up with a displaying approach that works beautifully for the
primary grades. Near the end of each lesson, I ask who wants to have
their work displayed. Usually about half of them want to take it home
immediately, but between 5 & 10 want them up. Fortunately our halls
have this gripper strip that holds work immediately, so in 10 seconds I
can hang all the work. Then in the next class, I take it down and give
it back (there is no grading of work, but I do in class evaluation as
they're working).

In the older grades I do keep portfolios. Usually they contain a lot of
thing that the students didn't want to take, but many don't seem
interested in taking much home anyhow.
