That visit made quite an impression on Close as well. He produced an edition
through Universal Limited Art Editions of a photogravure portrait of
Rauchenberg that is a fundraiser for the school. The director of ULAE told
about it when he gave a gallery talk for the ULAE show here recently (where
the gallery invited 4 okie printmakers to show as well, myself included, and
put up an unmarked wall between us- as though our work might disturb the
sterile environment required by the New Yorkers'.... must have been a little
traumatic for me, I keep bringing it up, sorry)
