Re: Technology and art, look up Laurie Anderson. Her performance art and
video 'Home of the Brave' deal with this issue quite eloquently, and
amusingly at times. She also has a CDRom, 'Puppet Motel', which is the
work of art and confronts the issue of originality. Wonderful
post-modern ideas when you get into researching her work.
Another artist I admire is Joseph Beuys. His work ranges fro paintings
and sculpture to performance and installations. He also works with the
effects of society on our psyche. Rarely would one comment "I could do
that", but more, "Why would you?"
Both of these artists are examples of how art has changed through the
past 40 years, and question the role of museums in what is considered
