"Along similar lines, a favorite project of theirs is
enlarging an object to the point of abstraction, as Georgia O'Keefe did with
her flowers."

Size of the photorealists also. That is what is so impressive about the Chuck
Close work, the size, detail and variations on a theme.

We always like to ask the students to find the "Canneletto's" small
Renaissance perspective landscapes. They are always in rooms near large
Baroque and/or other massive works from the Pre/Post Renaissance. They are
exquisite and would be missed unless you challenge your students to find them.
They are quite amazing, it must have been a "one haired" brush.
