art as a legitimate subject

Hello everyone. I'm not sure why my last note didn't get posted, but I
wanted to comment on the question of lobbying & legislation. In, I believe
it was '92, the Reed-Hatch Ammendment recognized the "arts therapies" as
"health promotion and disease prevention services". The art therapy
association worked diligently to obtain recognition in Washington for the
legitimacy of the field. My suggestion is that your national organization
try to enlist the assistance of those Senators to draft legislation for the
recognition of art education. 'Bout time!
