Karen, a few years ago I did a Pop art lesson which was probably
marginal because I do not recall it. HOWEVER, when a few students got
finished early, I suggested that just paint on the newspaper that we
used for desk covers. Well, this turned into another better lessons.
They used the various columns and articles as color areas, and some of
the photos were beautiful when painted. I think it allowed students a
lot of freedom to recognize design on the newspaper page. Then the
bonus was that various students painted the same page, which when
displayed together looked like Warhol prints.
