THe thing about rubrics that I can never get past, is that when you
first introduce a project to the kids and they have never had any
experience in the media--how can they make an intelligent decision
as to what should be expected--and how the finished product should
look??? They have no idea how hard it is to handle. For example I
just had my classes make little wire people and cover them with paper
mache to make correctly proportioned people. If they had all looked
at my samples and watched me demo--they would have made rubrics that
would have sunk them--Even though I constantly remind them that their
people should be 1/2 legs and that their chests should be larger than
their arms--they are really struggling to produce a smooth finish in
correct sizes. Do you have them make the rubrics after they are
half finished??Sid
