Tred very carefully. The present teacher may say she will support you, BUT she
may interpret your changing of the rules as an implied criticism. If I was
going to change long standing rules, I would do it slowly, staring with the
most important one to me,. Even at that I would ask what is my primary goal in
student teaching?
When you have your own class, you set the atmosphere..but for now you are an
interloper. Can you try the art lessons you want to? Do they respond to your
lessons and you in a positive way? To me those are the important questions.
