Hello Natalie Jayne - what a pretty name! The February 98 issue of
"Community Update" put out by the US Dept. of Education has an article
entitled "Arts Education Partnership Helps Strengthen Schools and Education
Standards".
Also, they mention a video "The Arts and Children: A Success Story"
available by calling 1 800-3321-4510.

This web site that might help you out.
http://artsedge. kennedy-center.org/aep/aeplhtml.

Some other possible sources for information:

"Eloquent Evidence, Arts at the Core of Learning" by Elizabeth Murfee, from
the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, 1010 Vermont Ave. NW,
Washington, DC 2005

"Schools, Communities and the Arts: A Research Compendium - National Arts
Education Network, Kennedy Center, Washington, DC 20566

Americans for the Arts,m 927 15th St, NW, 12th Floor, Washington, DC 2005

American Council for the Arts, 1 East 53rd Street, New York, NY 10022
1-800-321-4510

Could you turn you paper around and approach it as "Putting the arts in
schools"?
