Just some thoughts on research papers. I can't even imagine grading those
again. I taught eleventh grade academic English for at least five years
and believe me I set the limit at 3-5 pages because it was usually
downhill after #5. I went step by step teaching bib cards, notetaking,
organizing, outlining, drafting, revising... and still had some horrible
papers to read. I don't have the answer, but I feel to write a good paper
that follows a thesis and documents the research, five pages is enough to
learn the process. Yes, someone can just ramble on, but is it valid?
