For those interested in "creativity," I strongly suggest the book:

"Growing Up Creative: Nurturing a Lifetime of Creativity" by Dr. Teresa M.
Amabile. There just happens to be a review of the book at:

related notes:

1. I dug through my files to find this quote which I thought connected
nicely to recent postings on this topic:

"Creative minds always have been known to survive any kind of bad training."
Anna Freud

2. I vaguely recall a study from years ago in which a British researcher
found that loss of sleep inhibits creative faculties and the ability to
deal with unfamiliar situations. According to this study, giving up as
little as one night's sleep seriously undermines the mental skills of
spontaneity, flexibility and originality.

Let's hear it for "nap periods" in school! ;^)

Time for me to go to bed,
