I have a very strick lateness policy. I explaine to my kids that if they
are working hard, are commited to developing the piece, and have a
complicated idea, they get all the time they need. If they are goofing
oee or uncomited, not working ect...they get unitl the second it is due
and no longer! Kids that miss school had better have been working prior
to missing in order to get extra time!!!
When I started this, the kids scoffed, but once I was firm once, they
got the point
Kids consider me a tough teacher, they have to work in art, and as one
kid pointed out to his friend, "she'll fail your ass man" but....with
this comes extremly high expectations and most of them appreciate being
expected to excell at tough stuff!
