My cooperating teacher during my student teaching used to allow early
finishers to help people who were behind; in every case I saw, the late
finisher had completed enough of the project that the helper was just filling
an area in, continuing a pattern, etc. It reminded me of the workshops of
artists like Rubens, in which the Artist would lay out the design/sketch, and
other artists would finish it out. (on a less grand scale, of course!! :-) )
This was at the secondary level.
What are some thoughts on this practice?
