I just had a really annoying thing happen--my peep hole plugs were
stolen--I'm sure because they look like a hash pipe. It makes me
crazy--I told them we were skipping clay if I don't find that they
have miraculously appeared. One of the most amazing things I found
turned in for a grade was--what at first glance I thought must be
a cannon on wheels--when it was presented on top of its grading sheet
it became quite clear that it was male genitalia with an engraved
part saying blow me--I forgot to mention that the project was whistles.
I took it to the principal who really had a hard time getting through
the parent conference that insued--without losing his composure totally
and laughing out loud. I find that projects like whistles and teapots
are naturals for pipes etc. You an usually tell the intention by
leaving the project out in public for a couple of days and seeing what
people say about it--my kids who are making pipes usually have to tell
all their friends and then they all cluster around and gawk at it. That's
usually my first clue if I didn't pick it up during construction. Sid
