I teach 7-12th grade art. I generally have a rubric that
involves issues like craftsmanship, origionality, and a few
other categories that depend on the lesson objectives.
I have the students trade artwork and fill out the rubric
(with complete sentences). At the end of the rubric I
have one or two questions like "What is your favorite part
of this artwork?", or "What areas would you suggest that
this person should change if they were to do this piece
In my high school classes I include more and more about the
elements and principles in the rubrics as the year goes on.
