I teach papermaking. Before my first class I realized l couldn't collect
enough good quality scrap paper of the many colors I would have liked to go
around for the whole class. I remembered reading something in a papermaking
book about framing shops giving away their 100% cotton scrap matt board. I
figured, it couldn't hurt to ask for the scraps. So away I went to all the
shops in our area. I ended up coming home with (literally!) a car load--not
just of scraps, but full size rainbow assortment of high quality matt board.
Some had a bent corner here or there, but most was in perfect condition! That
was two years ago. I have used them for everything under the sun and it has
saved a small fortune.
"Ask and ye shall receive" is right.
