Looking for some colleges w/ art programs?
Here are are a few undergraduate college/universities (and some grad
programs, too) in NY State:
(check out the web sites to find more in depth info, i.e. there snail mail
addresses, specifics on depts., and recieving catalogs, etc.)

http://nyscc.alfred.edu
NY State College of Ceramics at Alfred
The ceramics/ engineering dept here is internationally recognized.
There also is a great school of art and design.
It's in a small town located in the southerntier of the state, about 70 miles
south of Rochester.

State University of New York at Purchase
This school I am not so familiar w/, but have heard many positive things
about. It is basically a school of fine and performing arts, including
liberal arts.
It's also in a small town, but located about a half hour just north of New
York City.

http://www.buffalo.edu
State University of New York at Buffalo
This university has a number of academics, and also pretty good art dept.
but check out the web site for better info than I can give you!
Art education is offered here.

http://www.newpaltz.edu
State University of New York at New Paltz
This college is a liberal arts university with both a strong fine arts
and performing arts dept. Art education is offered here also, along with
theater, painting, art history, metals, sculpture, ceramics, and an
assortment of others that have currently slipped my mind.
Located in the Mid-Hudson Valley, about and hour and a half north of NY
City.
