Searching for arts-based curriculum program

I am designing an art-based program to be implemented next year in
the middle school where I teach (visual arts). I will be teaching art,
social studies, lang arts, career-ed, all with an art focus, with generous
exposures to music as well. A math/science specialist will teach this same
group visualath and science with a visual, hands-on approach. This will be
a special program for 25 7th grade students who will be accepted to the
program based on their demonstrated interests in art, to be taught within
our regular school. The board of education is quite committed to this, and
is creating another art studio and hiring another art teacher to replace
me. Am I terrified? Yah. But I get more and more excited about it as
every day passes. It seems like every time I open a Smithsonian, or listen
to NPR now, there is something I can use for this program.
I would like to visit a school where a similar program already
exists. I have found a middle school of the arts, but the rest of the
curriculum does not seem to be taught with an arts focus, it remains
seperate, not integrated. If you teach in such a program, at the middle
school level, or know of one, could you E-mail me? I have a small grant
that will allow me to travel. Thanks so much, Linda J.
