I usually use a methy cellulose paste that comes in 2 oz. packages which
dissolves readily in a gallon of cold water. I have never had any to mold
or mildew. It is non-toxic and easy to use. It is available in most art
catalogues - brand names of Ross and Pritt. Also, like the white glue
and water combination. An alternative to the balloon method is to use a
bowl as the mold. Some tips: 1. Alternate layers - one of newspaper and
one of paper bags or paper towels; it's easy to see when you have made a
layer. 2. Rub the paste on the previous layer instead of dipping and
wiping each piece of paper. Good luck.
