When I think of the artforms my mother carried with her from Germany, the
first thing that comes to mind are the woodcarvings...of course, these are
very old...little figurines from the black forest, bottle stoppers, boxes,
cuckoo clocks. I grew up putting my toothpicks in a little woman's mouth
(black forest figurine)! And there are the fairy tales, and songs, also a
whole different spin on the Santa Claus story, and holiday traditions. You
might also look into Contemporary German art...a whole different world!
Consider Joseph Beuys....Very interesting...
