Although I deleted all the text in the message to which I am replying, it is
my usual habit to leave all or most of the text in place when I reply.
I do this because it is very easy to scan existing text, and because my
summary might be an interpretation that does not accurately reflect the
statement of the author, and because others might not have read the original
post.
I am more concerned with preserving content than bandwidth.
But that is just MHO. YMMV. :-)
