I am trying to find out from art educators (currently teaching k-12, no
longer teaching, teaching at universities, plan to teach, etc.) what they
think should be covered in preservice course work. I am on several
state and national policy committees and would like this information to
highlight preservice needs and promote change. I know that some of
this was discussed several months ago, but I am looking for specific
suggestions.

CONSIDER:
What do you wish had been addressed in your preservice course
work?
If you are now teaching, what deficiencies have you noticed in your
background?
What was exceptionally good in your preservice experience?
What is essential to a good preservice art education program?

PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:
What do you think needs to be covered in preservice art education
programs?

(For my convenience, please list your suggestions in order of priority:
#1 for the most important, etc. Also, please indicate the grade levels
you teach, taught, or plan to teach. Thanks.)
