My colleague and I have long discussions about how to help students
become independent artists. We've been able to hone our dialogue to
talk about the "creative process" as the means to the imagination, or
image making if you will. Some students tap into that process on their
own, albeit with varying levels of achievement. Other students need
constant reinforcement and reminders of the process involved and how to
use that knowledge to develop individual artistic style.
